An event organised by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is set to focus on dispelling the myths surrounding the halal market.
The event, which is being held in collaboration with Carr's Billington, will take place from 6:30p.m-9:00p.m on Tuesday, July 16, at Mitchells, A66 Lakeland Agricultural Centre, Cockermouth, Cumbria.
The event aims to examine the valuable role the halal market plays both in the UK and in export markets around the world.

At 7:10p.m, a member of the AHDB market intelligence team will discuss data from consumer research and trends in the sector.
At 7:30p.m, AHDB head of international trade development, Jonathan Eckley, will bring context to what is happening in the international markets, as well as how halal fits into the equation on trade shows and missions.
Following Eckley, Awal Fuseini of AHDB will showcase why the Muslim market is such an important part of the sheep industry, and dispel the myths surrounding the word 'halal' from 7:50p.m.
At 8:35p.m, a butchery demonstration will commence, showcasing the subtle differences in cutting techniques and how the butchery in the sector has changed over the years.
A round up of the meeting and its key takeaways will take place at 8:55p.m followed by an opportunity for discussion at 9:00p.m.
