Vets interested in joining the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons' (RCVS) Fellowship for 2023 now have just over a week to submit applications.

The applications for this year's intake will close at 5.00pm on Monday, February 13, 2023, the college said.

The RCVS Fellowship aims to advance veterinary standards and promote scientific excellence across veterinary professions.

"Members of the fellowship comes from all areas of veterinary practice and have made a significant impact throughout their career on the wider veterinary profession," it said.

There are three routes to joining the fellowship, and each route has different criteria. These routes are:

Along with their applications, applicants must also submit a summary of their contribution to the profession, depending on which route they are applying through, and include examples of significant bodies of work they have produced throughout their career.

The main purpose of the fellowship is "to advance veterinary standards by providing a resource of independent knowledge for the benefit of the veterinary profession", the college said.

"Specifically, the RCVS Fellowship seeks to fulfil this aim by creating a thriving learned society.

"The fellowship, therefore, offers a platform to make this contribution within and assisted by the RCVS structures and governance framework."
